Industry Partnerships

Students gather in the BE courtyard for the senior design showcase

Through collaborative partnerships, we connect industry with cutting-edge research that drives innovation and real-world impact.

Trusted by leading companies, our work is powered by the generous support of forward-thinking corporate partners. Here are a few of the companies—past and present—that we’ve worked with.

Corporate Sponsored Senior Projects Program (CSSPP)

Team from 2024 CSSPP presentations

The Senior Design Capstone projects at UC Santa Cruz offer a select group of students a unique opportunity to work on real-world engineering challenges as the culmination of their undergraduate education. Over the course of the academic year, students collaborate closely with teammates and engage regularly with their project sponsors—receiving feedback on their solutions and guidance throughout the development process. By working alongside mentors at corporate partner companies, students gain valuable skills, solve complex problems, and begin to understand what it means to be a professional engineer.

QB3 Biotech Undergraduate Summer Internships program

The QB3 Biotech Undergraduate Summer Internships program is designed to give students work experience in the biotechnology field. The program connects students with paid internships at local biotech companies and UCSC labs. By working alongside experts in the field and utilizing advanced laboratory facilities, students build their technical and networking skills, preparing them for careers in biotech.

Human Computer Interaction (HCI) Industry-Sponsored Capstone Project

HCI industry sponsored project

Offered every year, the HCI Master’s Industry-Sponsored Capstone Project is where student teams of three or four work with one of our corporate or community partners to bring the culmination of their HCI M.S. experience—and the materials learned across all courses within their degree—to a real-world partner-defined UX product, service, experience design, or research challenge.
