The Baskin School of Engineering at UC Santa Cruz co-organized this year’s Bay Learn Symposium, an annual event gathering engineers and scientists in machine learning from the San Francisco Bay Area.

The event format centered around sharing cutting edge research and ideas, and included lively panel and group discussions about present and future ML and generative AI trends. Dean of Baskin Engineering Alexander Wolf offered opening remarks, and other speakers came from companies including Apple, NVIDIA, and Google Deep Mind.

During the poster session, over 50 participants shared their latest findings.

Baskin Engineering computer science and engineering professors Leilani Gilpin and Ian Lane served as organizers for the event. The event was hosted at Santa Clara University, which was also a co-organizing institution. THis year marked the first time in 10 years that the event was held at a university.
