Now in its second year, the QB3 Biotech Undergraduate Summer Internship program at the University of California, Santa Cruz, connects students with hands-on experience in the biotechnology field.

Baskin Engineering graduate students Juanita Gomez and Prajna Hebbar have advanced to the final round of the 2025 UC Santa Cruz Grad Slam. They will compete against finalists from other UCSC academic divisions in the campus-wide Grad Slam finale on March 1.
A new esports room at Baskin Engineering has opened its doors to the UC Santa Cruz Slug Gaming club. Made possible by a donation from Baskin Engineering Dean Alex Wolf, the space provides a dedicated area for competitive gaming and community-building.

Two UC Santa Cruz engineering graduate students are pursuing anti-racist research with the support of the Baskin Engineering Fellowship for Anti-Racism Research (FARR). Established in 2021, FARR supports two graduate students each summer with $6,000 in funding to advance research focused on combating racism and bias in technology and engineering.
